Visiting Hours Visitors are welcome at the medical center, because we firmly believe that feeling the presence of friends and family is important to your well-being. However, to promote the comfort of all our patients, we ask that your visitors come to the Medical Center on suggested visiting hours mentioned below and that no more than two persons visit you at a time. Visiting hours on general care units are 3:00 pm. to 4:00 pm. daily. Special units such as intensive care may have different visiting hours. Occasionally the nurse may restrict visiting times for an individual patient. Visiting children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times and may only visit during approved hours. Children are restricted from visiting the intensive care unit, transplantation unit, and patients on dialysis. What to Bring Due to the special environment and care of our patients in our units, we do not permit live plants or cut flowers to be delivered to patients. Many patients especially with kidney disease have special needs or restricted diets. We encourage you to check with the nursing staff before bringing or giving the patient any extra food or beverages |
Communicable Diseases Some patients may be at risk of developing infections. Visitors are asked not to visit if they have a cough, cold or sore throat. In addition, relatives and friends who have been exposed to any contagious diseases such as Chicken Pox, TB, Mumps or Measles within the past three weeks, should check with the nursing staff on the patient care unit before visiting. In some cases, they may not be allowed to visit as it might pose a risk to patient. Patient Status Inquiries Family and friends may inquire about your status from 2:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m by calling (21) 879 7761-5, (21) 887 4521-5. An operator will forward the call to the ward and they may speak directly to your nurse. If you are a patient in one of the Intensive Care Units, only calls from your immediate family will be forwarded. |
