Pre-Kidney Transplant Medical Eligibility in IRAN
Before undergoing kidney transplantation in Iran, recipients and donors must complete a comprehensive physical examination, including blood tests and kidney evaluations. Most of these tests should be conducted within Iran, so even if they were previously performed in your home country, they must be repeated in Iran.
The process to obtain medical eligibility prior to surgery includes the following:
Required Documentation for Kidney Recipient Candidates:
CBC diff Blood group, Rh
Panel reactive AB Crossmatch with donor
FBS Bun, Cr, Na, K, Ca, P
SGOT, SGPT, Bil D, Bil T, ALP HDL, LDL, TG, Chol
Pt, Ptt, INR T3, T4, TSH
PTH IGRA
PSA (for men older than 50) Wright, Widal, VDRL
CMV igg, igm EBV igg, igm
HSV Ab HCV RNA (PCR), HBVDNA(PCR) (for patients on hemodialysis, history of blood transfusion, IV drug use, or close contact of hepatitis patients)
Hbs Ag, Hcv Ab, HIV Ab U/A, U/C
VCUG Abdominopelvic sonography
Breasts and axillary sonography (for women) Chest CT without contrast
Sinus paranasal frontal CT
CT scans without contrast for kidneys and cystic parenchyma are recommended for patients with suspected renal masses or cysts.
Doppler sonography for leg veins and femoral veins, and lower extremity venous duplex ultrasound for patients with a history of deep vein thrombosis in lower extremities
Endoscopy Colonoscopy (for patients over 50 years old)
Echocardiography Dental evaluation
Gynecological consultation (for women)
Additional consultations may be required based on findings from patient history, physical examinations, and test results, including:

Hematology Rheumatology
Psychiatry Gynecology
Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) Neurology
Infectious diseases Orthopedics
Ophthalmology* General surgery (in case of splenomegaly)

HCV RNA (PCR), HBVDNA(PCR) (for patients with a history of blood transfusion, IV drug use, or close contact with hepatitis patients) Hbs Ag, Hcv Ab, HIV Ab
U/A, U/C 24-hour urine test: Volume / Cr / pr
Kidney-bladder ultrasound Echocardiography (for individuals over 40 years old)
Renal CT angiography Normal blood pressure
BMI less than 30
These documents and test results are required for potential kidney donors in order to ensure their eligibility and optimal health during the donation process. All necessary tests and evaluations should be completed prior to being considered as a donor candidate.
